Spring '17 - Charter Substitute Teacher Network (CSTN) in Chicago

Prompt:

We all remember substitute teacher day - throw the movie on and raise hell. But what if your substitute inspired you – to know your self-worth. To achieve your dreams. To connect the dots between your passions, your school work, and your future impact on the world. This is CSTN's vision, and we’re achieving it in two phases.

Phase I – perfect the substitute placement model. Today teacher absences result in massive amounts of lost learning time for students. By the time our students finish K-12, they have spent the equivalent of one full school year with substitute teachers. We solve this problem by seamlessly matching high quality guest teachers with classrooms.
Phase II - leverage a global network of guest teachers and role models to empower children everywhere.

Recently recognized in Forbes 30 Under 30, CSTN was founded by Gabe Nakashima is currently managed by Gabe and Eric Waldstein. We operate in Chicago, Denver, Houston and Minneapolis, and we’re scaling rapidly. Gabe and Eric are USD School of Business alumni (’09) and Gabe is the former USD SIBC President.
